Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake that is part of the Rift Valley wall; the lake is at the base of this dramatic western escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos, which you can see at a closer range than many other places. Lake Manyara also hosts thousands of flamingos at certain times of the year and has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah, to marshes and acacia woodland, enabling a variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies.
Early morning breakfast, you drive down Ngorongoro Crater floor for full day exploration of game viewing drive with picnic lunch served at the Crater floor. After lunch explore more of the Crater before heading back to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight, includes meals, drinks* laundry service, transfers and game drives.
Ngorongoro volcano was one of the world’s tallest mountains before it exploded and collapsed forming Ngorongoro Crater. Thousands of wild game can be seen on the crater floor, including the Big 5. Bird watching is superb, especially around Lake Migadi, which attracts flocks of flamingoes to the shallows. Hippos are content to submerge themselves during the day and then graze in the nearby grass in the evening. The result of a volcanic eruption 2-3 Million years ago, the caldera floor covers 64,000 acres and encompasses open grassy plains, acacia thickets, riverine forest, and fresh and soda lakes.
